I have to admit that I did laugh a little bit when Alex got beaten up by the old men in the library and I also felt bad for him at the same time and that's actually a good thing because the author wrote this novel so well that I can feel bad for the antagonist.

I was disgusted by the passage that I read. After Alex completed the Ludvic procedure, they treated him like an object, not a human being. It interests me as to how he will adjust in the real world and I have a feeling that it's not going to work out in the end.

I can see why this novel is a satire now. One of the characters say that Alex is just a number, that they don't care what he thinks or how he feels, as long as they decrease the number of violence. It is a reflection of our own government. I strong agree that a lot of times the government cares more about numbers and statistics that the needs of individuals.

I have to admit that I found it relieving to see Alex go through the Ludvic procedure even though it's a horrible method to reform prisoners. However reading about the Ludvic procedure made me realize that it isn't ethical because it's brainwashing, a person should change his or her ways because they realize that the things they do are wrong.

I find it funny that in the passage that I've read Alex seems to think that going through with the Ludvico method was going to easy and that he was going to get out pretty soon. The author did an amazing job using an antagonist as a main character because he was able to get the readers to like Alex even though he does really horrible things.

From the way prison life was described I'm not surprised that the crime rate is high because prisons are supposed to reform criminals, but from the way it was written, it seemed like they were just being punished all the time. I know the turning point in the story is going to come soon because there was a mention of a new building and I'm guessing this is where Alex is going to be sent.
